This stem cap combines design with weight savings. It integrates the top cap itself with a 5mm spacer under/above the stem in one precision-milled piece.

The cap with an integrated washer above the stem solves situations where the carbon fork tube must extend above the stem for safety reasons, or when the rider wishes to retain the ability to change the handlebar height for different riding styles or future bike sales.
