Race Face heralds a new era with these handlebars — quite literally.

A great deal of development has gone into these carbon bars, with special attention paid to achieving the perfect balance between compliance and stiffness. The concept behind their design is called GL tuning (Goldilocks Tune) — the ideal calibration of vertical compliance. To explain briefly: most handlebars today are around 800 mm wide and can be shortened to suit the rider and bike. However, shortening them alters the characteristics — stiffness increases, and compliance decreases. For example, shortening from 800 mm to 760 mm reduces compliance by about 24%, which can lead to hand and forearm fatigue (commonly known as “arm pump”). To maintain optimal GL tuning, Race Face offers the Era handlebars in 760, 780, and 800 mm widths. Combined with rise options of 10, 20, and 40 mm, there's a perfect match for every rider!

The Era handlebars are made from 96 individual carbon layers, with a specific layup for each width to achieve the best possible combination of stiffness and flexibility. The clamping area has been narrowed to 60 mm, allowing for a quicker rise and faster diameter taper. The Race Face Era handlebars now deliver the best possible balance!
